Old Ahmed 2nd Presentation reflection..

Date: 05 - 16 - 2012
Time: 11:10 am
Location: W007
Subject: Air pollution
Presenter: Old Ahmed

Introduction:

He introduced himself and asked some questions about the picture in the main slide.

What (new) did I learn?

Ahmed talked about air pollution percentages in some countries and he mentioned that the UAE is a small country and it has a large percentage of pollution whereas some other countries have got a big area with less pollution. Moreover here are some causes; outdoor causes; manufactures and cars whereas perfumes and self-products are indoor causes.

Some solutions are to put some filtering system in those manufactures and cars , motivate people to use buses instead of cars because each house in the UAE has at least 4 to 5 cars .
There are some policies; having a filtering system in some buildings and streets, replacing fuel with unleaded gasoline and low carbon diesel, managing & controlling exhaust emissions.

Slides:

Nice to look at, easy to know the content; good number of words per slide

Body language and eye contact:

He was able to get our attention; he was pointing fingers and asking questions, he could manage between reading from the slide and looking at us.

Fielding questions:

He answered the questions very well, and he was very glad to be asked questions.

Overall Impression:

The presentation was enjoyable; he did everything he could to make the information easier to understand .

The chairman Mohamed opened the meeting at 10:25

1. Advantages.
                Mohamed : Advantages !
Hedley waited for our response to that word
Abdulla said that the percentage of late and absentees will become less

Ayoob : Abdulla agreed and student won’t come untidy
Hedley smiled and said that’s true , all of them will wear nice clothes

2.
Disadvantages

There are some disadvantages, Mohamed said that group work won't work !
Ayoob : yes but we can do more group work and this was a solution
Mohamed replied let's focus on the disadvantages and we'll talk about the solution later
Abdulla  mentioned that the flirting percentage will increase
Hedley suggested to put some strict rules which is in our solution already

  3.Classes
Classes seems to be small said the chairman!
Hedley said how ?
We said that there are not enough classes (exam halls) ; what would happen later on with more students in each class ?
Class rooms are bit too small for us now

4. Communications
Mohammed made this point and said communication is something important but with mixed classes it will be hard to manage.
Ayoob said students are going to be shy and Abdulla agreed because it's obvious each gender is not used to deal with the other gender and that’s the big deal .
5. Solutions

After that  , we moved on to the other point which is the disadvantages ; we talked abit here because in our culture it’s a bit hard for both genders to deal with each other .
We also talked about the classes (size, place, number etc). Mr. Hedley asked us some questions and we answered by giving opinions.

My interview .
The interview went well for both sides; they asked me a lot of questions and I answered well in my opinion. Both Ahmeds asked me a lot of questions that I can answer fluently except one that I couldn’t answer because I didn’t go through it; moreover they were organized and knew what to ask. I was a bit nervous at first but later on it was easy to deal with it. It’s a practice for the real life.
